AirVape Legacy Pro 2 Review
AirVape USA was kind enough to send me a preview unit of their new flagship portable vaporizer, the AirVape Legacy Pro 2, for review. I’ve been using it for about a week and have put it through its paces across different sessions and setups.
The Legacy Pro 2 is a thoughtfully refined version of the original Legacy Pro, packed with smart quality-of-life upgrades and fresh features. It’s the same Legacy Pro you know and love…just better. Let’s dive in.

Design and Build Quality

Holding the Legacy Pro 2 in your hand feels nearly identical to the OG Legacy Pro. It’s ergonomic, relatively lightweight, and has a premium feel. Most of the upgrades are subtle but smart.
New Color Screen
By far the most noticeable upgrade is the larger color display, which provides more information and is easier to read at a glance.

Upgraded Latch Mechanism

One of my small gripes with the original was the door latch, it took effort to open and sometimes flung open aggressively causing my AVB to fly everywhere. That’s gone. The new latch locks securely but opens effortlessly. A great improvement.
New Outer Materials

AirVape swapped the old textured fabric for a cork-style material with subtle gold flake. It looks sleek, adds grip, and offers better heat insulation. My only caution: the cork has started to lift slightly on my pre-production unit. Pressing it down works, but I’ll update this review over time if it becomes a persistent issue.
Magnetic Screen Filter

This is one of the biggest wins. The tiny silicone-gasket screen that was on the OG is gone, replaced by a larger magnetic screen filter that’s easier to remove, clean, and improves airflow.
Performance
Flavor
This is a marked improvement over the original Legacy Pro. The first few hits are full of terpenes and flavor and definitely more pronounced than before. It’s on par with my Arizer Solo 3 V2 and gets very close to the Mighty+.
Draw Resistance

Airflow is where the Pro 2 truly shines. It’s effortless—better than the OG Legacy and at least on par with or better than the Mighty+. It also beats the Arizer Solo 3 V2 in draw resistance which is very impressive!
Vapor Quality
Smooth, flavorful, and cool vapor. I haven’t coughed once during testing. While it doesn’t produce quite as much vapor at identical temps as the Solo 3, it’s equal to the Mighty+ in terms of cloud output.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning the OG Pro was a chore. With the new magnetic screen and “OnePath” vapor path, cleaning the Pro 2 is much simpler. There are still a few parts to track, but it’s a huge upgrade overall. The included long pipe cleaner helps, and q-tip access is much better.
Side-by-Side Comparison

Feature | Legacy Pro (OG) | Legacy Pro 2 |
Screen | Monochrome | Color |
Draw Resistance | Moderate | Light |
Ease of Cleaning | Annoying | Much Improved |
Features (Carryover + Upgrades)
-Wireless charging
-Rapid heat-up
-Hybrid heating
-Precision temp control
-Removable battery
-Glass vapor path
-Integrated stir tool
-On Demand + Session modes
On Demand Mode
Same process as before: turn on, press both temp buttons, then hold the power button to heat. Vibrates when ready.
Session Mode
Same entry as On Demand. Heats to your set temp and vibrates. You get a solid 3-minute session which is great for water pipe setups or just chilling and watching your favorite netflix show.
Portability
For on the go use, the Pro 2 is probably going to be the unit I reach for the most. Fits in a pocket or small bag, heats quickly, and is discrete. Pair it with AirVape dosing capsules and you’ve got a killer festival or park setup.
Battery Performance

Battery life is solid: around 6–8 sessions per charge. With a removable battery, the device becomes even more versatile. Keep a spare and you’re good all day.
Gripes & Limitations
- Loading is still awkward — a funnel or scoop tool is strongly recommended.
- The clamshell design may be tough for those with limited dexterity, even with the improved latch.
- Cork material starting to come up (See Pic Below)

Final Verdict
The AirVape Legacy Pro 2 is a refined, impressive upgrade. With major improvements in airflow, draw resistance, flavor, and cleaning, it holds its own against the best in its class and even rivals premium tier vapes in a few key areas.
The Airvape Legacy Pro 2 has earned a spot on our “best of” list for sure!
TL;DR:
- Better draw resistance than the Mighty+
- Flavor approaching the Solo 3 V2
- Huge cleaning and usability upgrades
- Battery flexibility with swappable cells

Frequently Asked Questions About the AirVape Legacy Pro 2
Is the AirVape Legacy Pro 2 worth the upgrade from the original Legacy Pro?
Yes. The Legacy Pro 2 brings meaningful upgrades in airflow, flavor, cleaning ease, and usability. The draw resistance alone is a major improvement, and the new color display, magnetic screen filter, and latch redesign solve a lot of the OG’s quirks.
How is the airflow on the AirVape Legacy Pro 2?
The airflow is excellent—on par with (and possibly better than) the Mighty+. It’s a major improvement over the original and makes for smoother, more comfortable draws.
How does the flavor compare to other vaporizers?
Flavor has been noticeably improved and is now comparable to the Arizer Solo 3 V2. It captures more terpene nuance than the original Legacy Pro and comes close to top-tier portables like the Mighty+.
Is the AirVape Legacy Pro 2 easy to clean?
Yes—much easier than the original model. The new magnetic screen, OnePath vapor path, and larger internal access points make q-tip and pipe cleaner maintenance a breeze.
Does the AirVape Legacy Pro 2 work with dosing capsules?
Yes, and it pairs especially well with AirVape’s capsules for portable use. It makes on-the-go vaping easier, cleaner, and more discreet.
What is the battery life like on the AirVape Legacy Pro 2?
You can expect around 6–8 sessions per charge. The removable battery is a major advantage—just carry a spare for extended outings.
Can I use the Legacy Pro 2 with a water pipe?
Absolutely. Session mode works great for this, and the upgraded airflow and vapor cooling make it a solid match for water piece setups. You will, however, need an adapter (sold separately).
Is the new cork material durable?
The cork exterior looks great and adds grip/insulation. However, on the pre-production unit I tested, it did begin to lift slightly. This may vary by batch and could improve with final production quality.
What modes does the Legacy Pro 2 offer?
It supports both On Demand and Session modes—great for flexibility whether you’re microdosing or ripping with friends.
Is the device easy to load?
Not really—this is still a weak point. It’s very easy to miss the chamber end up with herb in the hinges of your clam shell door or on the magnetic screen. You really should have the loading tool even if you plan on using dosing capsules.
