Review Summary
The Arizer Solo 3 v2 emerges as a compelling dry herb vaporizer, masterfully bridging the gap between mid-tier pricing ($275.99) and premium performance, making it ideal for both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts seeking high value. While its exceptional battery life, rapid heat-up, intuitive interface, impressive vapor production, and generous accessory package truly set it apart and deliver a powerful home vaping experience, its larger size and multi-component design temper its on-the-go portability. Despite minor drawbacks like potential overheating if not regularly cleaned and a noticeable draw resistance compared to some competitors, the Solo 3 v2’s feature set and overall value position it as a strong contender in the vaporizer market, easily justifying its passionate fan base.

I think that speaks to how passionate people are about this device and what it brings to the table! From the large amount of accessories it comes with to its performance, and even its issues, it’s safe to say that the Arizer Solo 3 v2 is a big part of the dry herb vaporizer conversation. In our Arizer Solo 3 v2 review (2025) we’re going to break down its most important characteristics: performance, battery life, issues, and its wins!
The Arizer Solo 3 v2’s price point of $275.99 USD positions it as a mid-tier vaporizer ideal for someone who isn’t afraid to spend a little extra money on a device if it’s their first time trying dry herb vaping, or the seasoned aficionado who wants a premium vaporizer at a much lower price point than most of its competitors, like the Mighty+.
I have spent the last two weeks daily driving the Solo 3 v2 and I have a lot of thoughts! So stick with me and we will dive into the good, great, excellent, and not great parts of this device!
Unboxing, First Impressions, and Build Quality

Unboxing
Unboxing my Arizer Solo 3 v2 was quite the pleasant experience. I genuinely appreciate their careful planning when it comes to unboxing. Everything was packed nicely in eco friendly, numbered, cardboard boxes that had the contents printed on the outside of them. Once you remove the device you have three other boxes packed perfectly to remove.
In the boxes you find two glass “aroma tubes;” an XL and a regular that are both 90mm in length. The “XL” and “Regular” refer to the size of the chamber for loading your herb. You also find two 14mm glass water pipe adapters in XL and regular size as well. All 4 of these glass tubes come in protective PVC travel tubes with silicone caps.
You also receive a stainless steel stirring tool, 4 stainless steel filter screens, owners manual, USB-C charging cable, and most surprisingly a 5v 3A usb charger. I must say that adding the charging brick was a welcome addition to this and really made me happy. I guess I am just used to companies not providing charging bricks anymore (thanks Apple), and to receive one was such a welcomed addition and really makes it feel like you’re getting extra value!
I purchased my unit from Planet Of The Vapes and it came with a small carrying case that actually fits everything in the box including the device itself.

First Impressions
Picking this device up, I was immediately struck by the way it felt in my hand. The brushed aluminum body, large screen and buttons really make this thing feel premium. The metal body makes you feel like this thing is built like a tank!
I really appreciate some of the design choices Arizer made on this unit, particularly the machined sides on the body that have grooves at the top for your thumb and fingers to rest. These grooves give you the impression that you can move this device around in your hands without the fear of dropping it. The rounded edges of the body also feel great in hand and nothing pokes you or feels uncomfortable in any way.
The user interface is also a welcome sight with a color display and intuitive controls. I would recommend a deep dive on the user manual as there are more options than meets the eye with this device!
Key Features & Performance

Heating System & Vapor Quality
The Arizer Solo 3 v2 has a hybrid heating system with both convection (80%) and conduction (20%). The chamber is made of stainless steel and the heating element uses “ceramic convection technology” which is a fancy term for “the heating element is made of ceramic”.

Overall the Solo 3 v2 heats up incredibly fast (Check out my drag race between the Solo 3 v2 and the Mighty+ here)! I clocked mine at around 5-8 seconds to reach my favorite temperature of 375F. This thing heats up QUICK! If you are using on demand mode, this is a very, very good heat up time!
I also enjoy the option of setting temperature presets that you can step up throughout your session or while in on-demand mode. I say that I enjoy the option because honestly, I rarely need to step the temperature up with this device. My sessions last about ten minutes and by the end of that time, I have had PLENTY and my herb is very dark roasted. I fear going up in temperature will get me too close to combustion.
Here is a look at what the herb consistently looks like after one session at 375F.

Let’s talk about vapor quality. Overall the glass aroma tubes do a really nice job at bringing out terpenes and the overall flavor of your herb. I would say that the flavor of the terpenes gets a little lost at 375F for me and if I want the same amount of flavor as I get from my Mighty+, I need to dial that temperature down to about 300-320F to get close to preserving the terpenes like a Mighty+ does.
The vapor is smooth and doesn’t tickle my throat too bad even at what would be a higher temperature for this device (375F). When I say that this thing rips, I really mean it. The Solo 3 v2 can produce some really big clouds. As the session continues and the herb is roasted harder and harder, the vapor does naturally become more harsh and less flavorful (which is normal in a dry herb vaporizer).
The Arizer Solo 3 v2 is very efficient at pulling almost all the vapor out of your herb in one session. By the time the session is over, either by the device or because I can’t handle anymore, the amount of vapor coming out of my device has dropped significantly which means it’s using up all the available vapor.
Battery Life and Charging
The battery life on the Solo 3 v2 stands in a class of its own in my opinion. I have used this device every night for the last two weeks for sessions lasting around 10 minutes each and I have only just recently had to charge it after ten days of nightly use. I don’t know if I got a unicorn or not, but that is some solid performance.
I also want to reiterate that their inclusion of a charger with the device is such a welcome, and unfortunately, unusual thing. The user manual explicitly tells you to charge using their charging brick only and I have been diligently using it, so maybe that is why the battery life is so strong.
Your results may vary, but expect up to around 9-12 sessions per charge on average and around 100 draws per charge in on demand mode. On demand mode has a really cool feature where it disengages the heater whenever you’re not drawing on it which preserves battery life.
I try not to use hype words when writing reviews, but it’s safe to say that this battery life is epic.
Ease of Use & Interface

The Arizer Solo 3 v2 has a very straightforward user interface that allows you to get up and running quickly and without a lot of fuss. It comes out of the box with a “lock” feature that will prevent it from getting into the menus accidentally. This is useful if you take this device on the go with you and it’s in a full bag or pocket because it makes sure you don’t accidentally activate your oven when you don’t want it to be running.
You can change this feature, along with many other things, in the settings menu by holding the right button to access the settings feature. Once in this menu you can change the units, notifications, temperature, the volume of beeps, brightness, inversion (for when using upside down with a water pipe, lock and auto-off.
To say that this device is feature-rich is an understatement, yet I appreciate that it has features you will actually want to use or modify.
Overall, the high contrast UI, easy to use interface, and the ability to tweak a large parameter of settings under the hood make for a very well thought out and overall quality UI experience.
Session Mode
Once in the main menu, after being greeted with a smiley face (nice touch), you have two big options. Session mode and on demand mode.
I have been using session mode, with the exception of a few nights, for the last two weeks of testing and I find ten minutes to be the perfect amount for me. You can choose to set session mode between 5 and 20 minutes with 1 minute increments. You have a lot of options for your personal use case with this device!
You can also toggle between three temperature presets by double tapping the “m” button. This will allow you the option of choosing or editing all three of your temperature presets if you’d like to do temperature stepping in the middle of your session. You can also easily adjust the temperature during your session by using the up and down buttons respectively.
On Demand Mode
I used this mode for a couple nights to make sure I had a good feel for this feature. Overall it was a really nice experience with fast heat up times and a really clean UI that helps you know when the oven is ready and how long you have been drawing on it.
As stated above, the Solo 3 v2 knows when you draw on it and will disconnect the heating element to save battery when you are pulling on it for vapor. You can also easily access your presets in this mode as well!
Portability & Size
The Solo 3 v2 is a very portable and pocketable device when you do not have an aroma tube connected to it. Once you put an aroma tube into it, it is no longer a “portable” device. Going out and about this device is kind of tricky; let me explain.
In order to take this device on the go, you need to bring the actual device AND an aroma tube full of herb. You can load the herb prior or bring it with you, but either way you aren’t just carrying one self contained device. You are now carrying two pieces, one of them being glass. Arizer gives you aroma tube carrying cases that help keep your herb packed and protect your glass aroma tube, but that is now a third thing to bring along with you. I don’t typically carry a bag and rely solely on my pockets and that starts to add up fast when you are lugging around a lot of essentials.
All of this adds up and makes this less portable compared to other devices that are more “self contained”. Taking this on the go is doable, but be prepared to have to do some shuffling in your pockets to make it work. If you carry a bag, I would highly recommend the small carrying case that comes with it, because it will make it really easy to throw in a backpack or purse.
The other thing you need to be aware of is if you want to use session mode while out and about, you have to install and uninstall the aroma tube that is filled with herb. So you are potentially in a situation where you have taken a single hit of the device, then you need to pack it back up, move on to your next place, then repeat the process all over again. I have found that in loading and unloading the aroma tubes, it’s very easy to have your herb fall out and it’s also easy to accidentally touch the hot part of your glass tube.
All of this begins to make me think twice about taking the Solo 3 v2 out with me on the go and honestly it wouldn’t be my first choice. It wouldn’t even be my third choice if I am out in public.
That means that this device, in my opinion, is best for home use. I have really enjoyed having the Solo 3 v2 on my night stand ready to go when I want to take a hit or do a session while I’m winding down my night watching television.
Loading The Aroma Tubes

I must say that of all the devices I have used and tested, loading the Solo 3 v2 is really, really easy. You simply dip the aroma tube into your grinder and scoop your herb up. It’s simple and very effective.
Once you have your herb in the aroma tube, it’s vital to not over-pack it and leave some room otherwise you will definitely get some uneven heating for your herbs. Pay attention to the manual as it gives you pictures and best practices for packing your aroma tubes.
Cleaning and Service

Cleaning
Cleaning the Solo 3 v2 is incredibly simple. You only need to really clean the glass aroma tube and wipe down the oven. I can have my unit cleaned and ready to go in under 5 minutes which is pretty important given that in order to get the most out of this device you need to clean it at least once every 3-4 sessions in my opinion.
I love that there are no moving parts, or small pieces that need to be removed in order to clean it. You do need to pay special attention to your mesh screens as you clean, as they can fall out if installed improperly or after getting hit with a brush.
One small issue I have encountered with cleaning is that sometimes bud will fall into the oven. This makes cleaning it a tiny bit more challenging but I have found that blowing hard into the oven or using a small brush will get it out very quickly. Not a huge deal in my opinion but worth mentioning.
Service
Doing self service on the Solo 3 v2 is not really a great idea in my opinion and should only be done by verified service technicians or someone who isn’t afraid to brick their device and void their warranty. I think with this device in particular it will be best to send it back to the manufacturer if you have any issues.
The battery is not replaceable which is unfortunate, but an ok trade-off given what the battery is capable of.
Comparison: Solo 3 v2 vs Mighty+
Having used both of these devices extensively this is a heavy weight battle between two very capable units! While the Mighty+ takes the win in flavor extraction and terpene preservation, the Solo 3 v2 pulls away in almost every other category. Stay tuned because I will be doing a full comparison on these two! In the meantime, check out my Mighty+ Review!
Common Issues and Drawbacks
Overheating
Many users have pointed out on forums and reddit that the Solo 3 v2 can overheat and move into the realm of combustion. I have also spoken with a few local friends who own this device and they have also experienced these issues. I have had two situations where I believe the herb combusted or got really close to it. I believe both of those were because I hadn’t cleaned the aroma tube enough and there was still some small bits left over from my previous session.
The vapor tasted like I was smoking a doinker which was very odd considering this was my first pull on it. Once I cleaned the aroma tube after 2-3 sessions, this problem did not present itself again. If it does happen again, I will be sure to amend this review.
Draw Resistance
The draw resistance on the Solo 3 v2 is not best in class and coming from a Mighty+ to this, it is very noticeable. If this is your first mid-tier dry herb vape you may not even notice the resistance at all, but it’s worth mentioning.
This device is a bit more susceptible to overpacking than other devices I have used and as such, you will need to find your sweet spot with how you pack the herb and how much draw resistance you like.
While I am mentioning this, it’s important to note that everyone’s preference on draw resistance is different and in no way am I implying you need to be a hoover vacuum in order to get anything out of it. Normal, even pulls will do just fine to produce massive clouds.
Final Verdict
Who should buy it?
The Arizer Solo 3 v2 is an incredible value at $275.99. It comes packed with features and accessories that easily help it to contend with devices $50-100 more in price. This device is for someone who wants high end vaporizer with an upper mid-tier price tag. I would crown this device the king of the mid-tier vaporizers and a serious contender in the upper tier vaporizer market!
Who should pass on it?
The only people who should pass on this device are those who don’t want to spend more than $200 on a vaporizer and those who are looking for a really portable device.
Overall I am absolutely blown away by the Arizer Solo 3 v2. It’s an exceptional value and comes with a ton of accessories that fit your lifestyle. What it lacks in portability it more than makes up for in flavor, vapor production, and features. Also, they give you a dang charger! I mean come on, it feels like we’re back in 2010 again ;).
All joking aside, after using the Solo 3 v2, I can see why it’s in the conversation. It really has the ability to create a fan base around this product and it shows. It also has its drawbacks which helps to further the discussion. Ultimately for whatever drawbacks the Solo 3 v2
possesses, it more than makes up for them with its features, vapor production, and accessories!
