Thinking about picking up the Puffco Peak in 2025? I’ve been using this iconic eRig daily for over a month, and here’s my honest take about performance, flavor, quirks, and everything in between. If you’ve been around the cannabis space for any number of minutes, chances are you’ve heard of Puffco. I would consider them the “apple” of concentrate vaporizers with beautiful and sleek designs, killer marketing, and overall performance.

I purchased my puffco peak from VGEAR about 4 weeks ago. It shipped with some MJ arsenal ruby terp pearls too!

I’ve been using the peak almost every night since I first received it! It lives on my bathroom counter or on my nightstand and I have used it in the day time and at night to help wind down from a stressful day and I have a lot of thoughts on it. Let’s jump in!

Puffco Peak Review 2025

Puffco Peak 2025

The puffco peak is a beautifully designed electronic dab rig (eRig) that has a 3D ceramic chamber, fast heat-up time, 4 preset temperatures, usb-c fast charging, pass through charging, and a swappable glass top.

I purchased mine in the onyx black color but they come in two additional colors; cloud white and bliss which is a muted pink color.

The peak also has a “joystick” style carb cap for when you are inhaling your dab that helps provide directional airflow and improves vapor production and flavor by controlling airflow during your hit. It also provides some fun/stimulus when taking a hit.

Unboxing and Design

When the peak arrived at my house, my wife was sitting with me at the table when I unboxed it. The first thing she said was “ooooooooooo” when the lid of the box came off. I can’t overstate how beautifully designed these devices from puffco are…they genuinely have that “wow factor”. Their design language is sleek, modern, and approachable with soft flowing lines and an understated aesthetic that is, to quote famed formula one driver Max Verstappen, “simply lovely”. The peak is something that you probably don’t mind sitting out on your desk, nightstand or anywhere else.

In the box is the device, charging cable, dab tool, q-tips and a manual all tucked beautifully in their respective places.

The dab tool is puffco branded which is a nice touch in keeping with their premium vibes.

The manual is helpful in getting you up and running with little reading required as it has pictures to follow. And that seems to be the theme of the peak, minimalism.

The peak feels great in your hand as it has a soft plastic feel and is light to hold with no sharp edges that would dig into your hand while you take a hit.

As far as durability is concerned, I haven’t dropped it yet and the replaceable glass on it seems like it may survive a small drop but I wouldn’t test that simply because…it’s glass and it could shatter. If you’re someone who is really rough on your devices, I would suggest a carrying case or something of that nature to protect it. Again, we haven’t done drop tests as you’re most likely going to be cautious with it anyway because it has glass and carries water.

The peak is small and seems pretty portable but to make it really portable you’d need to purchase their peak pro travel glass that has a lid on it to keep your water in. Otherwise you’ll need to empty and dry it for storage.

Daily Use Experience: Is the Puffco Peak Still Worth It in 2025?

After my full first charge, I was really stoked to use this bad boy! I grabbed the user manual got started!

Operation

The peak has a simple, single button that handles powering the device on, selecting temperature and starting your session located on the back underneath the heating chamber. It sits naturally where your index finger would want to rest.

Powering the device on requires a single “long press” of the button on the back. Once it’s on, a single quick press of the button will scroll through the 4 preset temperatures; blue – the lowest and most flavorful (450F or 232C) , green-a balanced approach (500F or 260C), red – big clouds (550F or 288C), and white – massive clouds (600F or 316C).

I personally enjoy the ability to choose precise temperatures, but puffco has opted for the use of presets. This isn’t a drawback by any stretch because when my wife uses it, she loves the fact that it is extremely simple. No messing around with choosing a precise temperature, just some simple options… low, medium, high, and super high. This has become her favorite dab rig so far!

One little detail I enjoy about the peak is that when you power the device on, it vibrates in an “upward” motion. I’m not sure how to adequately express this in writing, but you’ll understand it when you feel it. The vibration has a sort of “rise” to it. Conversely, it goes in the opposite direction when you are powering it down. I really like this attention to detail.

Once you’ve chosen your temperature, a simple double click of the button on the back gets your session started!

Sessions last 45 seconds which is plenty for a good hit and you can optionally extend your session by double clicking during your session.

Operating this device is pretty straight forward, especially if you’ve owned any type of erig prior. If this is your first erig, I would suggest using their QR code on their manual as it will lead you to a video that will make everything really simple.

Flavor, Vapor Density & Temperature Settings Tested

I am a flavor nut. I really enjoy getting the different flavors out of my cannabis and so for me, the blue setting (lowest) is my go-to. I must say that the flavor on this little device is really, really good. And it’s what I would expect coming from a company like puffco.

My first test with it was a blast and I genuinely enjoyed the sharp taste of limoline from my sativa dominant hybrid. I got really smooth, cool, vapor and I had very little urge to cough. I have baby lungs so dabs hit my air bags like mike tyson in his prime!

I’ve tested this with a lot of different concentrates and they all work great on the puffco peak. The highest I’ve been able to go is the red setting (550F) and I coughed like crazy! But that’s just because of my widdle lungs LOL.

Overall, the peak performs really well. The chamber is a bit smaller than others in class so if you do really fat dabs, you may run into limitations. But for my use case, it seems to work really well.

Battery Life

The battery on the peak is really good so far. I’ve had it for three weeks using it almost every night and I’ve only had to charge it once (minus my initial charge). I do about two to three sessions an evening on it. I will do a long-term review as time goes on.

Cleaning/Maintenance

The peak is very simple to clean and if you stay diligent by cleaning it out after every session, you won’t encounter too many problems.

The glass piece on the peak is very simple to clean. I just use some 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol for soaking, plug both holes in it and shake it for a few seconds. After that, I empty it out and rinse it thoroughly with warm water.

The chamber is removable/replaceable and can be soaked in ISO as well.

Puffco does a pretty good job on their site showing you how to keep this unit clean. I appreciate the videos they made for it.

Quirks And Small Annoyances

Ok, my biggest annoyance with the peak is opening and closing the lid on the chamber. I’m not sure if it’s the silicone sleeve on the outside or what but getting this thing to close and seal is a bit annoying. I end up pressing on the joystick which gives a lot and the sides don’t always close and seal up. So I end up using my thumbnail to get it to close securely.

Also opening the chamber after a dab to mop it out with a qtip is a bit annoying too because 1. It’s hot from my session so my thumb or finger gets quite toasty and 2. The lip to open it is on the inside between the glass and the chamber. I would have liked to see it on the right or left of the opening instead of the front.

Beyond that, it’s a simple and easy to use device.

Is the Puffco Peak Right for You?

I’d say the puffco peak is best for you if you are just starting out with e-rigs as it’s simple to operate and easy to maintain. It also has that “wow factor” we talked about earlier with beautiful product design.

The peak is also for you if you’re someone who wants a small dab rig that performs nicely and really values simplicity and elegance in their products.

If you are a big tinkerer or someone who loves to have granular control of your device, I would say that this bad boy isn’t for you.

If you are someone who wants to bring your dab rig with you in a small compact form factor, I think this could work well for you if you purchase some accessories. But buyer beware, you do pay a premium for puffco branded accessories. Are they worth it? I can’t say yes or no because I haven’t had any experience with their accessories yet, but stay tuned as I will be reviewing more and more products from them as time goes on!

How does the Puffco Peak Compare?

Funny you should ask that 😉 I am currently working on my comparison between the puffco peak and the bomb erig sykloud (which, in my opinion, are direct competitors) now! They are both the same exact price and both do the same thing, but the sykloud from bomb seems to take the lead in a few areas! Stay tuned for that comparison post!

Price and warranty

At $220 you are getting a simple, small, e-rig that is simple to operate and for the most part well thought out. But you are paying a bit of a premium for the name. Just like you pay the “apple tax”, to some degree you’re paying the “puffco tax”. But many people are willing to pay that tax as puffco has solid brand recognition and has built a name for themselves as a premium device company.

The Peak comes with a one year limited warranty on the base which covers defects in materials and craftsmanship and a one month warranty on the atomizer.

Final Verdict

Do I recommend the puffco peak? Yes, it’s a recommendation for me. Is it the absolute best erig you can possibly buy at this pricepoint? Probably not. But what you do get is a beautiful device and the backing of a well-established brand in the vaporizer game.
