Crafty+ Review: First Impressions
After unboxing the crafty+ and doing my normal burn-off cycle, I was extremely excited to start my testing on this bad boy! Holding the crafty plus in my hands felt great! I make it no secret that I really love my mighty+ vaporizer and the Crafty+ feels as though you have taken a mighty plus and cut it in half. It fits really nicely in the hand and I also love that it has a flat bottom where it can stand up on a counter easily!
Heat Up Time
The crafty takes roughly 60 seconds on average to heat up. This is significantly slower than most devices in this category of vaporizers. For a portable device, I would love to see the heat-up time cut by at least half.
First Draw
Once you get past the heat up time, you do get a solid pay-off. My first draw on the crafty plus was everything I have come to expect from Storz & Bickel…tasty, cool, dense vapor. In this part of my Crafty+ review, I wanted to see how it stacked against my Mighty+ in a direct flavor test (I’ve actually done a full comparison between these two if you want to check it out!). I took a puff on the crafty and noted its flavor, then immediately did a first puff on my mighty to see how it compared. They were nearly identical…so much so that to draw any differences would be like splitting hairs.
Crafty Plus Vaporizer Review: Vapor Quality
The Crafty Plus Vaporizer does a very good job of maintaining flavor throughout your session. You can temperature step throughout your session by starting your session with the normal power-on feature (hold the power button for two seconds), then once your herb starts to release less vapor you can double click the button to go to the next temperature setting which is a boost. When your boost setting has cashed out your herb, you can triple press the power button to get max temperature.
Overall the vapor quality is excellent. It’s on par with the mighty+ but in a much smaller package.
Effortless Draws
The crafty+ has near zero draw resistance which is something I have come to expect from an S&B device.
Once you put your lips on the straw, you can draw as long and as strong as you want and the crafty will do a great job of delivering. Even when swapping between my mighty plus and my crafty plus, I genuinely cannot tell the difference. I even did a “blind test” with my wife. I had her put the vaporizer straws up to my lips and I genuinely couldn’t tell the difference.
Overall, excellent draw resistance, no stirring needed, it just works!
Crafty+ (Plus) Review 2025: Temperature in the Real World
The crafty plus comes with preset temps which means there is no way of changing the temperature on the device itself. If you want to change the temperature, you have to use the app which will give you control over its three “modes”.
In my testing, I have found that the factory preset temperatures are really well dialed in and there is simply no need to change them. Now if you are someone who has very specific tastes and desires, then the app is available to you, but the average person simply won’t need it.
Battery Life & Charging

Portability & Use Case
For this Crafty Plus Review, portability is a big win! It’s the smallest S&B device without sacrificing vapor quality.
You can definitely fit this in a larger to medium sized pocket without feeling like you have an ipad in there. Having said that; smaller pockets like those on women’s jeans or athletic clothes may begin to feel cramped. But the crafty can fit nicely in a cross body bag or purse and will hardly take up any room in a backpack.
As far as using the Crafty+ in 2025 it’s important to note that you only have session mode available to you. So I would say that the crafty+ is a device that works best when you have a destination in mind and you can park yourself somewhere and enjoy your herb. With the heat up time and only session mode, this isn’t a device that you will sip from periodically throughout your day in my opinion. This is a device where you sit down and enjoy your bowl of herbs then move on.
I haven’t tested this in cold weather yet but I will update this post once fall and winter hit.
